Community Involvement

Jeff Briggs is an active member of the revitalized Hollywood community. He represented the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for more than twenty years and served two terms as its Chair (the first to repeat the one-year term in more than a decade).  He also served three terms as Chair of the Chamber’s Community Foundation, which has awarded over $1M in grants to specific programs of local charitable organizations since its inception.

Jeff also has been a member of the governing board of the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains the renowned “Hollywood Walk of Fame.” .

Jeff is on the board of the Hollywood Police Support Association, and he represents and participates in the activities of several other Hollywood-area non-profit organizations:

Hollywood Sign
Hollywood Entertainment District
Hollywood Media Business Improvement District
First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood

Jeff is a founding member of Hollywood 4WRD (Four Walls, a Roof, and a Door), a coalition of business and property owners, residents, service providers, and government representatives in Hollywood seeking to stop merely managing and to start ending homelessness in and around Hollywood.

Jeff is counsel to and a Board member of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, a non-profit established to honor the late actor’s conservation work in Africa.  Please visit www.whwf.org for more information about this important work.

Jeff is also counsel to, a founding board member, and Vice President of Friends of the Hollywood Central Park, a non-profit dedicated to building a 44- acre “cap” park over the Hollywood (101) Freeway between the Santa Monica Boulevard and Bronson Avenue overpasses, an audacious project that is well on its way to becoming a reality and uniting the Hollywood area once again, quite literally over the freeway scar that divided it years ago, and providing much-needed green space in one of the most densely populated and park-starved areas of the city.

Jeff was a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Master Chorale from 2003-2008. The Master Chorale (originally known as the Roger Wagner Chorale) is the nation’s largest choral group with its own full season of performances, and shares residency of the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles with the Los Angeles Philharmonic (with which the Chorale often performs).

Jeff previously served for several years on the Board of ECHO Horizon school, a K-6 private school in Culver City, California, dedicated to educational mainstreaming for hearing-impaired children.
